Children’s Heart Federation

Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) is the most common birth defect in the UK.  Thousands of babies are born with a heart problem each year and hundreds more develop a heart condition at some point after birth.

The Children’s Heart Federation (CHF) is the leading UK children’s heart charity, and is dedicated to helping children with congenital or acquired heart disease, and their families, in Great Britain and Northern Ireland.  Just one of the very many ways it helps them is to host “Summer Family Days”, providing the opportunity for children with heart problems to have a free fun day out in the countryside with their families - enjoying adventure playgrounds and other attractions - and meet other CHF children and their families, and the CHF support team, in a relaxed atmosphere

Our grant sponsored their Summer Family Days in 2015, one at Beale Park in Berkshire on July 18th and one at Chatsworth in Derbyshire on August 22nd.

One father wrote afterwards to CHF: It has done us the world of good to have a day out whilst feeling safe and supported by you all.  Our children (and their parents!) have daily challenges and these rare treats are a real boost”.
